The Bill of Indictment for the two individuals arrested in connection with the murder of Canadian Frank Kofi Osei has been prepared and delivered to the police and the Adentan District Court by the Office of the Attorney General, which is responsible for prosecuting criminal cases on behalf of the state.
The accused, Safina Mohammed Adizatu, also known as Safina Diamond, and Michael Fiifi Ampofo Arku, will face trial in the High Court after committal proceedings at the Adentan District Court.
Safina, who has been granted a GH¢500,000 bail bond by the Tema High Court, executed the bond and reported to the police as part of her bail conditions.
The two defendants, who have not yet entered their pleas, are facing charges of conspiracy and murder in connection with the killing of Frank Kofi Osei, a Ghanaian resident in Canada, who was allegedly stabbed and strangled in July 2022 while visiting Safina.
The prosecution alleges that Safina, Arku, and other accomplices who have not yet been arrested, were responsible for the killing, and that Safina cleaned up the blood while Osei’s body remained in the room for 24 hours. The prosecution also claims that Safina and Arku dragged Osei’s body down the stairs of the building and left it at the gate of the house, where Osei had parked his Toyota Tundra.
Safina allegedly contacted the police and reported that her boyfriend had died in her room. The police subsequently found Osei’s body at the gate of Safina’s house, and Safina and Arku were arrested. —GNA
