The Management of APEX Health Insurance as part of its plans for this year, aims to expand its telemedicine delivery programme.
That’s according to the Chief Executive Officer of APEX Health Insurance Company, Godwin Fafa Setsoafia-Tukpeyi.
Speaking at the APEX 10th anniversary ceremony in Accra, he indicated that this initiative is to make healthcare easily accessible to their clients.
“Also to expand our telemedicine delivery programme which is going on well, it brings convenience to our members. You can imagine sitting in the comfort of your home and then you have a prescription and then you have to go from one place to another to get such medication, and then at the click of a button the medication is delivered to you in 30min, 40min without you having to go through stress in trying to get these medicines.”
Mr Setsoafia-Tukpeyi added that his outfit aims at working to make Ghana healthier.
“The main objective for any health insurance like ours is to make sure that we secure healthcare services for our insured members and which we’ll continue to do and like our theme is, “working together to make Ghana healthier” which we’ve been doing for the past 10 years.”
The Director of Private Health Insurance at the NHIA, Hudu Issah, in an interview with JoyNews, commended APEX for greatly aiding the national health insurance programme.
“APEX is a private commercial health insurance scheme, the government is not oblivious of the fact that governments of countries cannot attain the universal health coverage all alone, unless a room is created for private partnership, so APEX is contributing in attaining the universal health coverage.”
Some clients and staff, who were full of excitement, shared their experiences with JoyNews.
“I start from the staff, very energetic and very talented. Interesting characters contributing to the growth, as we’re speaking now and it’s very interesting to see us. I mean working together to make the company grow. So it’s very wonderful.”
“It has been an amazing journey so far, we joined in 2015 and all through to 2023, we’ve had prompt services we haven’t had any issues with the healthcare providers, I mean prompt payments when you know we have to make our reclaims it has just been an amazing journey.”
